Jasmine Ng is a filmmaker who tells story across platforms, from film to television, to theatre and site-specific installations. She has conceptualised cross-disciplinary works, with installations project in various public spaces in Singapore. Being an advocate for the film and arts community and the creative industry, she co-founded the Singapore Association of Motion Picture Professionals and is now the current president. Jasmine is a judge for the 24-Hour Playwriting Competition 2020, a workshop leader for Writing in the Digital as well as the director of King.

Kaylene writes across media for theatre, film and television. As director of performance company spell#7, she has been commissioned by arts institutions (Esplanade Theatres on the Bay, National Gallery Singapore) and festivals (Singapore Arts Festival, Singapore Biennale, Georgetown Festival) and collaborated with numerous independent companies and artists. Her headphone theatre production of In the Silence of Your Heart (Esplanade Studios) won Best Sound Design at the 2018 Life! Theatre Awards. Recent works include Missing, co-written with filmmaker, K. Rajagopal (Page to Stage, Arts House); and Brian Gothong Tan’s Lost Cinema (Esplanade Studios).

Nabilah Said is an award-winning playwright, theatre critic, poet and the editor of ArtsEquator. She is the founder of Main Tulis Group, a collective of playwrights writing in Malay and English. In 2018, she co-founded Lazy Native, an international theatre collective that champions Southeast Asian narratives. Nabilah is also a judge for the 24-Hour Playwriting Competition 2020 and a workshop leader for Writing in the Digital held as part of N.O.W. 2020.

Aarathi is an entrepreneur, passionate about being in business and connecting communities through causes close to her heart. With a career trajectory that has taken different paths from corporate to volunteer organisations and to start-ups, Aarathi harnesses the power from her experiences to curate and create experiences that will nurture communities that she comes in contact with.

Aarathi is a KeyNote speaker with the KeyNote Women’s Directory and believes in the power of the voice – a voice shaped by experiences and emotions that will shape how they hold themselves within a society they operate in. Aarathi also conceptualised and executed a series of events called Kitchen Movements, which spotlights home cooks and brings together people from different walks of life to cook, commune and contribute to charity together.

Anita Kapoor is the host and producer of digital conversation series BEYOND CHAOS on IG live that offers a space for safe self-inquiry. 

She is also the creator of the shareyourvoice.world audio project which features 1 minute audio stories from across the globe.  

She believes in the transformative power and healing in finding our voice and speaking our truth. 

A psychology graduate, Dhaniah is currently a research assistant, academic coach and scriptwriter. She has been a teacher in the public school system, as well as a media industry professional as a producer, researcher and scriptwriter, focusing on educational programmes for children and faith issues. 

In 2015, she co-founded Interfaith Youth Circle (IYC) as an organisation committed to building bridges between different faith groups in Singapore. It was initiated because of the need for safe spaces for the average Singaporean to engage in in-depth, respectful discussions about their beliefs on controversial issues such as race, religion, gender, sexuality and politics.

Evelyn Chye started learning Sign Language in 1997 and the beauty of the language led to her involvement with the Deaf Community in 2001. Since then, she has gained vast exposure in native sign language, Signing Exact English, Signed English, Pidgin Signed English and the various sign systems used by Deaf people who are literate.

Wanting to work deeper and meaningfully with people from different communities,  Evelyn pursued the Master’s Degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy with Edith Cowan University. Evelyn has been conducting various workshops for children, parent-and-child, youths and the elderly in the community clubs, schools, corporate companies, organizations and churches. With her new-found interest in theatre and the belief in theatre connects people, Evelyn started learning playback theatre in 2010 and has  since applied the skills in working with communities. She is a graduate of Leadership in Playback Theatre with Centre for Playback Theatre.

Today, Evelyn is a freelance Sign Language Interpreter, an improvisational actor with Tapestry Playback Theatre and Her Playback Theatre, and a full time Family Life Educator and Social Worker.

Amanda Chong is a lawyer trained in Cambridge and Harvard, who writes poems during lunch breaks. Her first collection, Professions, was published in 2016 and shortlisted for the Singapore Literature Prize in 2018. Her poetry has been engraved on the Marina Bay Helix Bridge and included in the Cambridge International GCSE syllabus. She is interested in exploring themes of gender and power in her writing which has appeared in Monocle, the Harvard Journal of Law and Gender, The Straits Times and Quarterly Literary Review Singapore. She also co-founded ReadAble (www.readablesg.com), a non-profit organisation that runs weekly English literacy classes for children and migrant women in a low-income neighbourhood since 2014, with the aim of improving social mobility.

Shailey Hingorani is the Head of Advocacy, Research, and Communications at AWARE, the Association of Women for Action and Research.

Before joining AWARE, she worked on women's rights and child rights in South Asia, Southeast Asia, and the United States. She has worked with the Open Society Foundations, the FXB-Harvard Center for Health and Human Rights, the Indian Mission to the United Nations, Save the Children, and the Bloomberg Initiative.
 

Shailey was a Fulbright scholar at Harvard University where she received a Master’s in Public Administration. She holds M.A. and M.Phil. degrees in political science from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, and a B.A. in Journalism from Lady Shri Ram College, New Delhi.

Dr Quah Ee Ling Sharon is Senior Lecturer in Sociology with the University of Wollongong. Formerly a postdoctoral fellow and research fellow with the National University of Singapore, Asia Research Institute, she holds a PhD in Sociology awarded by the University of Sydney. She is the author of Transnational Divorce: Understanding Intimacies and Inequalities from Singapore (2020), and Perspectives on Marital Dissolution: Divorce Biographies in Singapore (2015). Her research interests include decoloniality, feminisms, genders, sexualities, intimacies, emotions, families, race, migration, inequalities and social justice. She teaches Introduction to Sociology and Genders & Sexualities. 

Chong Ning Qian is a Senior Research Executive at AWARE. Her research and advocacy areas include single parents' access to housing; women, work and care; the rights of migrant wives, violence against women, and Singapore's compliance with international human rights standards. Ning Qian has a B.Soc.Sci. (Hon.) in Sociology (National University of Singapore).

Hailing from an underground music background, Ginette Chittick is a member of one of Singapore’s pioneer ArtRock/Shoegaze bands, Astreal, a DJ and was a prolific punk musician and zinester of the mid 90s punk scene. Originally trained as a web/graphic designer, her exploration into the realms of music, fashion, art, textiles/fibre and photography has led her to work on the themes of love, memory and experience, and the blurring of lines between the worlds of the craft, design and art. Punk Rock imagery still influences much of her work as does the DIY ideology which pervades her process of making. With her two recent exhibitions, “Planes and Envelopes” (2019) and “This, That.” (2019), Ginette investigates the role of craft practices termed as “aesthetics of care” and its place in contemporary art and design. Her practice encompasses techniques such as tapestry weaving,  and latch hook with coupled her interest in interior architectural design objects. Her materials include a self-handspun yarn made from locally harvested kapok cotton and merino wool.

She holds a Master of Art (Design) and leads the Diploma in Fashion at the School of Fashion, LASALLE College of the Arts. 

Trained in painting, Hazel frequently employs text, craft techniques and drawings to express her interests in the production of narratives, notions of displacement, construction of histories and imaginary landscapes.

Besides being an art practitioner, she leads the BA(Hons) programme in the McNally School of Fine Arts at LASALLE College of the Arts. Hazel is one of the artists commissioned for the Singapore Biennale 2013/2014 with a work entitled A Botanical and Wildlife Survey at the Singapore Peranakan Museum. Recently, she collaborated with her partner for a work The Oort Cloud and Blue Mountain (Children Biennale 2019) at the National Gallery Singapore. Her website is www.limhazel.com

Pauline is a former lawyer and law professor whose long-held interest in the visual arts eventually led her to the  MA (Asian Art Histories) programme at LASALLE, from which she graduated in 2017. Pauline is co-founder of Plural, a digital art magazine focusing on Southeast Asian modern and contemporary art, at www.pluralartmag.com. The magazine, aimed at a mainstream audience, serves as a source of news, information and critical discourse to a rapidly growing community of art-lovers in the region. She continues to conduct independent research in art history and is a member of the Singapore chapter of the International Association of Art Critics (AICA).

Usha Chandradas is a tax consultant, educator and publisher. She worked as a lawyer for over 12 years before embarking on the LASALLE College of the Arts Master's Degree in Asian Art Histories where she met Pauline Gan, another former lawyer. Together, they co-founded Plural Art Mag, an online magazine featuring accessible art historical writing on modern and contemporary Southeast Asian art. The website, together with its accompanying social media platforms, includes a fast-growing community of readers who hail from both art and non- art backgrounds. Being a fluent Malay speaker, Usha's particular research interests are centred on Indonesian modern and contemporary art. When she’s not juggling her teaching engagements with her corporate roles, Usha keeps herself busy with finding the perfect jump shot for Plural’s Instagram feed. 

Jo Tan is an actress, singer and host trained in Paris and currently based in Singapore. She has performed in various cities including New York, London, Beijing and Yeosu. In 2018, Jo was nominated Best Supporting Actress at the Life! Theatre Awards for her performance in Frago by Checkpoint Theatre. Aside from her television appearances in Channel 5's 20 Days and Channel 8's Jalan Jalan, Jo is also involved in web films like The Helper and hosting both solo and sometimes as a third of the Dim Sum Dollies. Jo is currently working on her own theatre pieces, and is looking forward to stage them in the next year.

Graduated with Diploma in Music Production and Engineering in School of Music and the Arts, went through Technical Theatre Training Programme in Esplanade. Raymond has a keen interest for sound design in theatre and music, and enjoys collaborative, devised and experimental works. Some of his recent work done locally includes being A2 for "Unrinetown: The Musical", sound operating for "Peter Pan in Serangoon Gardens" and "The Lifespan Of A Fact".

Hanafi is a documentary filmmaker with a keen interest in topics on consciousness and the true meaning of self. When not behind the lens, he tinkers with DIY electronics projects and terrorises his three cats.

A stage/event manager by profession, Samantha also dabbles in playwrighting on the side. Her skill sets include hand-holding neurotic actors, staying zen in the face of backstage calamities and getting s**t done. When not day dreaming that one day The Doctor will whisk her away on great adventures, Samantha creates her own adventure working on the following productions: 7 Sages of the Bamboo Grove (Toy Factory Productions), Civilised (The Necessary Stage), Off Centre (The Necessary Stage), Liao Zhai Rocks! (The Theatre Practice), Sometime Moon (Toy Factory Productions), Forked (M1 Fringe Festival), ChildAid Concert (Orange Dot Productions), Koko the Great (Esplanade-Theatres on the Bay), Turn by Turn (The Finger Players), The Tale of the Frog Prince (SRT).

Liting (They/Them) is currently a Directing MFA student at the Graduate Institute of Theatre Performance and Playwriting at the Taipei National University of Arts. Liting's work centres on queer performance and gender. Their past works include《不男不女》(Taipei Arts Festival 2018), Pretty Butch (M1 Singapore Fringe Festival 2017), The Truth About Lying (The Finger Players) and Taking The Subs (The Substation Director’s Lab). Liting occasionally performs as Southside Tingles with the Taipei Drag King Crew. Liting likes guitars, sneakers and referring to Liting in third person.

Stephanie (they/she) is a poet, stand up comic and educator based in Singapore. They currently run a poetry night called Spoke & Bird. They also run a stand up comedy night and livestreamed chat show called Siao Char Bors Comedy which promotes women and LGBTQ people in comedy. Their first poetry collection, Roadkill for Beginners, was published by Math Paper Press in 2019. They also perform burlesque and a drag as both a queen and a king. 

Edith Podesta is an theatre maker, choreographer and actor. In 2017, she was awarded Best Original Script and Production of the Year at the Straits Times Life! Theatre Awards for her production BITCH: The Origin of the Female Species. Edith is currently the Associate Artistic Director of Young & W!LD, a division of W!LD RICE Limited.

A versatile, bilingual practitioner, Eleanor’s career spans the genres of theatre, film, television and music. Stage credits include The Necessary Stage's Future Perfect and Don’t Know, Don’t Care, Teater Ekamatra's Mata Hati, WILD Rice’s Homesick, Toy Factory’s December Rains and Glass Anatomy, SRT’s Forbidden City: Portrait of an Empress and A Twist of Fate, and Dick Lee's Hot Pants and Beauty World. She currently plays Gwyneth Wynn on long-running local drama series, Kin.

Eleanor directed Purgatory by L’arietta Productions, and is currently directing All Dressed Up, No Place to Go, an online prequel for L’arietta’s next opera. She is a veteran educator with two decades of experience and an MA in Arts Practice and Pedagogy (Goldsmiths).

Brendon is an actor. His recent theatre credits include The Importance of Being Earnest, 

MERDEKA / 獨立 / சுதநததிரம், Displaced Persons’ Welcome Dinner, Underclass, and Hotel. He’s also a voiceover talent, and has voiced radio, television, and online advertisements for clients like DBS, Mastercard, Oral-B, and Telfast. You might have heard his voice at The Bicentennial Experience in 2019, and might also hear him on Downstairs Season 2, a local animated series for adults that follows the surreal adventures of wacky Kopitiam stall owners, when it premieres in Oct 2020 on meWATCH.

Day is a bilingual actress and educator who has a passion for storytelling. She graduated from LASALLE College of the Arts (BA Acting) and was recently in: Fat Kids Are Harder to Kidnap, Gunting The Series, Running with Strippers: On the Rocks and The Page on Stage 2019 as an assistant producer to Tan Kheng Hua. Besides performing, Day enjoys being a drama educator for preschoolers and hopes to spread her love for the arts through storytelling sessions and drama-based classes. 

Erin Chen is a Year 5 student from the School of the Arts (SOTA), specialising in Theatre. Having been raised in a family with strong connections to the arts, Erin began developing a passion for theatre at an early age. She is excited to be working with T:>Works for the very first time. Her performance experience includes significant roles in school productions, such as Miss Ma and K in Clusterfish written by Haresh Sharma, as well as a featured role in MediaCorp’s Say Cheese.

A graduate from Intercultural Theatre Institute (ITI) in 2014, Grace dabbles in acting, directing, educating, storytelling and writing in different combinations for stage. Some of her own creations include Goddess of Words - Sarojini Naidu (2019), The Old Fogies (Octoburst'18 – Esplanade) and Stories & Songs from the Bow(Feed Your Imagination'17 – Esplanade). Through her various interdisciplinary works, Grace seeks to inspire discourse and give voice to minorities and the suppressed.

Julie Wee trained as an actor at The Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) Drama School in Melbourne.

She’s played Juliet in Romeo and Juliet (Wild Rice); Cassius in Julius Caesar, Portia in The Merchant of Venice, Miranda in The Tempest, Hero in Much Ado About Nothing and Bianca in Othello (Singapore Repertory Theatre). Her other stage credits include Wild Rice’s Hotel and Checkpoint Theatre’s Normal.

She works as a host and as a professional voiceover artist who runs her own home studio. Companies that use her voice include SK-II, Olay, STB, Uniqulo and McDonalds.

Karen is a theatre actor based in Singapore, where she is a working mum with possibly the best job in the world.

Wan Ching is a performer, theatre maker and acting teacher. She has worked with companies including The Necessary Stage, Nine Years Theatre and Hatch Theatrics. She most recently co-directed and performed in tanah.air 水土: a play in two parts presented by Drama Box. Directing credits include precise purpose of being broken, independently produced at the M1 Singapore Fringe Festival. Wan Ching trained with SITI Company and am a graduate of the inaugural SITI Conservatory Program for international theatre artists.

Pavan J Singh is a Singapore-based actor and theatre artist. Credits include How Drama’s Fat Kids are Harder to Kidnap (since 2020), Zenda Tan’s Eat Duck (Checkpoint Theatre 2019), Jean Tay’s Chinatown Crossings (Dramabox 2019), Complicité’s A Disappearing Number (NUS Stage 2019), Joël Pommerat’s The Reunification of the Two Koreas (T:>Works 2018), Haresh Sharma’s This Chord and Others (Esplanade Studios 2017), his original work Refuge (Skinned Knee Productions 2016), Edith Podesta’s Dark Room (Esplanade Studios 2016), Shiv Tandan’s The Good, The Bad and The Sholay (Checkpoint Theatre 2015) and Edward Albee’s The Zoo Story (Skinned Knee Productions 2011).

Born in Singapore, educated in Fine-arts, and inducted into the music industry in Los Angeles, Inch has made a career as an international recording and performing artist. Her passion for the arts, wild places, and technology has led her to play at numerous festivals around the world and experimenting in a variety of art forms. An appreciator of good gin, random animal factoids and dense film essays, Inch is a recipient of the National Youth Award in 2018 for her contributions in the arts and was recently awarded Best Sound at the 2020 LIFE! Theatre Awards for her multisensory theatrical music production in 'Til The End Of The World, We'll Meet In No Man's Land. She is currently based in Singapore with her two cats and nursery of plants.

Lim Ting Li is a sound designer, re-recording mixer and foley artist and her foray into sound for films started in 2004. A multi-award winner, she significantly won the Verna Fields Award in Sound Editing at the MPSE Golden Reel Awards in Los Angeles in 2014. In 2018, she was conferred the National Arts Council’s Young Artist Award, Singapore’s highest award for young art practitioners.

A graduate of the MA Sound Design course at the National Film & Television School in the United Kingdom, Ting Li’s design of sonic architectures for film narratives is based on her conviction that sound cannot be on the backburner but adds a pivotal dimension to filmic storytelling.

She is currently the Director of Sound at Mocha Chai Laboratories, Singapore's first and only Dolby Atmos dubbing theatre facility.

Co-founder of M’GO FILMS, Panuksmi develops and produces film, tv and interactive multimedia installations. She is focused on producing works that respect cultural diversity as 

being vibrant and inherently complex. Having left her birthplace Jakarta at a young age, she

continuously questions the notion of belonging and displacement. This becomes a recurring theme in her choice of projects. Panuksmi spent her formative years in New York City until she moved to Montreal to pursue her university studies in film. She has been a resident of Singapore since 2004.

Storytelling has been an artery of her practice for the last 18 years. She uses various mediums to communicate her thoughts and style, with video being her oft-used tool. Her experiences in the underground music scene in Singapore paved her interest in always exploring alternative modes of living. This led her to put her camera and editing skills towards collaborating with any interested community in Singapore, in hopes of visually presenting lesser-known truths. Topics of social urgency, such as natural history and ignored societal lived experiences are a driving force for her to coalesce and devise her works currently. From the last decade, she has explored using installation and performance and hopes to continue merging her lived truths with her craft. Lately, she has also been exploring digital design as a medium. In 2017, she co-produced a short film on a Tamil poet who is a migrant worker in Singapore. From 2018, she has been on the organising team of Freedom Film Festival Singapore and has a video project with the last street vendors of Singapore, in collaboration with artist Tan Biyun. For the last decade, she has made work as Sharmeen/Sifar.

Hailing from Singapore, Fuse is a band you’d instantly get on your hardcore radar. From their catchy riffs to signature raging vocals, their songs will have you wanting to hit the pit. Through lyrics that speak of frustrations with the state of the world, Fuse is expressing that they’ve had enough of societal issues caused by power imbalances and is hoping for change. With the release of their debut 12” This Segregation Will End under UK label Quality Control HQ Records, Fuse is waving the Lion City Hardcore flag high and proud.

Formed in late 1992, E-thereal was formed by both schoolmates, guitarist Rudi Rosmawan and drummer Ross Khalil with the same musical interest. The band started out as a quartet playing a mixture of Death/Thrash metal, Hardcore and Punk. By the late 90's, the band concentrated on playing Death Metal and releasing a couple of demo's and rehearsal tapes. In 2008, with the addition of a new female vocalist, the band releases its first full-length album entitled The Acts Of God. In 2011, with new members onboard, Syarmilla on Vocals and Nasri on Bass, the band continued playing both locally and overseas and releasing an EP titled Repent (on both cassette and CD) in 2014 followed by Stench Of Paradise EP in (only available through Digital Music Platforms). At the moment in 2020, the band is currently recording their 2nd follow-up full-length album, targeted to be released in the 3rd/4th quarter of 2020.

Radigals formed in 2012, is a 4-piece all-female hardcore punk band with Aisyah for vocals, Alin on the guitar, Cheryl on the drums and Esty on the bass. Never shy from speaking out, their music often addresses issues such as female empowerment, sexual harassment, body-shaming, sexism and mental health. Their style has often been described as urgent and emotionally rousing, channelling the indefatigable fighting spirit against injustices and self-doubt. Standing in solidarity with women movements internationally, they hope their music can play a part in breaking barriers and advancing gender equality in the hardcore and punk scene in Singapore.

Obstacle Upsurge have been around for close to three decades. Dubbed as the first all-female hardcore band in Singapore, it has blazed a trail for younger female musicians in what is conventionally known as a male-dominated genre. In 2017, it released its first self-titled EP on Lithe Records. The EP features an anthology of songs both old and new – Human Puzzle and Mind Abuse written 16 years ago – as well as new material, Fairy Tales. Since then, the band has penned new songs yet to be recorded, Sleeping Soul, Once in for All and Lullaby for the Wounded. They continue to be celebrated as one of the most important hardcore bands in Singapore.
